Practically every platform popular among children (social networks, games and messaging apps) includes reporting and blocking features, but they're often hidden in unintuitive menus that adults themselves have rarely explored. Knowing in advance how to report inappropriate content, block a user who's harassing and report a fake account makes it possible to act immediately instead of wasting valuable time looking for the option in the middle of an uncomfortable situation for the child. It's worth spending a few minutes reviewing these features in the apps the child uses before a problem occurs, and teaching them directly how to use them, so they don't always depend on an adult to act in the moment.
