Parental Controls and Privacy Settings
How to use parental controls
Parental control tools, built into the operating system or available as standalone apps, make it possible to limit usage time, block content categories and review which apps the child installs, without needing to read every message they send. Setting them up together with the child's own device, also adjusting the privacy of each social network or game they use (who can see them, contact them or see their location), reduces much of the risk of unwanted exposure. It's important to present them as a support tool and not as covert surveillance: explaining to the child what was set up and why generates far more cooperation than installing them secretly, and keeps them from feeling their trust was betrayed when they eventually find out.
