Cyberbullying and Its Signs

Warning signs of cyberbullying

Cyberbullying is the repeated harassment of a child through digital means: offensive messages, deliberate exclusion from groups, spreading rumors or posting humiliating images without consent. Unlike in-person bullying, it doesn't stop when they get home, which can intensify its emotional impact. Some warning signs include sudden mood changes after using the phone, avoiding certain apps or devices they used to use normally, sudden social isolation or a noticeable drop in school performance. Detecting it in time depends more on being alert to these behavior changes than on monitoring every message they receive, and it requires opening a space for conversation without judging or minimizing what the child is going through.
