How to Block and Report

Almost all apps, games and social networks have two very useful tools to keep you safe, blocking and reporting, and learning to use them is like having a magic button to protect yourself when someone bothers you or makes you feel uncomfortable online. Blocking a person means they can no longer write to you or see what you post, and reporting means letting the platform know that someone is doing something that breaks the rules, so they can review it and take action. You don't have to feel afraid or guilty about using these tools; on the contrary, they're part of taking care of yourself, just like walking away from someone who treats you badly in the schoolyard. A good habit is that, every time you block or report someone, you also tell a trusted adult, so they know what happened and can help you if the situation needs more than just blocking that person.
