Who I Ask for Help If Something Makes Me Uncomfortable

Knowing whom to turn to if something online makes you uncomfortable

If anything you see or are told on the internet ever makes you feel weird, sad, scared or just uncomfortable, the most important thing to know is that you're never alone and there's always a trusted adult you can tell what happened, whether it's your mom, your dad, a teacher, an uncle or any grown-up you feel safe with. Telling someone what makes you uncomfortable isn't "tattling" or getting yourself into trouble; on the contrary, it's the bravest way to take care of yourself, and it can also help keep it from happening to other children. Sometimes it's a little embarrassing to tell certain things, but trusted adults are there precisely to help you without getting angry with you, so if something in a game, a chat or a photo made you feel bad, tell someone in your family or at your school right away, even if you're not completely sure whether it was serious or not.
