Brand Impersonation and Fraud

Targeted Phishing Using the Brand's Identity

Phishing that impersonates the brand to deceive customers

When attackers use a well-known brand's logo, colors and tone of communication to send fake emails or messages, they're exploiting the trust customers already feel toward that company, which makes these phishing campaigns much more effective than a generic message. This type of attack directly affects the brand, even if the company hasn't technically been hacked, because the user who falls into the trap associates the fraud with the corporate name and loses trust in future legitimate contacts. A typical case is the email posing as the support team, warning of a "problem with your account" and asking you to click a link that leads to a page identical to the official one in order to steal passwords or payment details.
