Continuous Monitoring of Applications in Production
Watching the app once it's in production
No application is completely secure once deployed, so continuous monitoring in production acts as the last layer of defense when something slipped past earlier testing. This includes logging and analyzing access and error logs for anomalous patterns, such as repeated failed authentication attempts or requests trying to exploit undocumented routes, and having automatic alerts that notify the team when out-of-the-ordinary behavior occurs. Application performance monitoring (APM) tools and intrusion detection systems help identify within minutes what, without proper visibility, could go unnoticed for weeks. An incident detected and contained in time, thanks to good monitoring, costs a fraction of one discovered by a customer or the press.
