EDR/XDR Solutions for Endpoint Protection
Advanced detection and response beyond antivirus
EDR, or endpoint detection and response, and XDR, its extended evolution to other sources such as network and email, continuously monitor device behavior to detect suspicious activity that a traditional signature-based antivirus wouldn't identify, such as a legitimate process that suddenly tries to mass-encrypt files or communicate with an unknown server. This matters in practice because today's attackers use techniques that deliberately evade classic antivirus, leveraging tools already present in the operating system instead of installing detectable malware, an approach known as living off the land. A concrete value of EDR is that it doesn't just alert on the anomaly, but lets the security team remotely isolate the compromised device from the network within seconds, containing the incident while it's investigated, instead of depending on someone manually detecting the problem hours or days later.
