Secure File Sharing

How to send work documents without risks

Sharing a work file seems like a simple gesture, but the channel you choose largely determines who else might see that content. Sending a document with customer data through a personal chat or a free email account, instead of the approved corporate platform, takes that information out of the environment the company controls and places it in a space without the same security or backup guarantees. Before sharing, it's worth asking yourself whether the person receiving the file really needs it, and whether the level of access you give them, such as read-only instead of full editing, matches what their work requires. A useful habit is setting an expiration date on shared links when the tool allows it, so access doesn't stay open indefinitely after the original need has passed, something very few people check once the file has served its purpose.
