Passwordless Authentication

Removing the password as a weak point of access

Passwordless authentication completely eliminates the need to remember and type passwords, replacing them with methods such as security keys based on the FIDO2 standard, device biometrics or magic links sent by email, so the user authenticates without ever having to create or memorize a key. This matters in practice because passwords are still the weakest link in digital security, since users reuse them across services, choose predictable ones or fall for phishing attacks designed specifically to steal them, problems that passwordless eliminates at the root by not depending on a secret the user must transmit or remember. A concrete example is the use of passkeys, where the user's device stores a private cryptographic key that never leaves the device, so that even if a fraudulent website tries to capture credentials through phishing, there's no password to steal.
