Sharing Threat Information between Teams
Sharing IoCs and TTPs between teams
Sharing indicators of compromise (IoCs) and tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) between teams lets one organization defend itself against a threat that has already hit another, instead of discovering it on its own when it's too late. This exchange relies on standards such as STIX to structure the information and TAXII to transport it, which makes it possible to automate distribution across different organizations' platforms. It's important to classify shared information using schemes such as the Traffic Light Protocol (TLP), which indicates with whom each piece of data may circulate: from exclusively internal use to public disclosure. Actively taking part in this exchange, and not just consuming others' information, strengthens the team's reputation and improves the quality of the intelligence received in return.
